Re: Single lever controls
Wed, Jul 28, 2004 1:06 AM
Ours has a big meaty lever with a ball on top that is easy to grab and control. I've never had a bit of trouble with it in a quarter of a century. I wish I could say the same for other boat components. Larry Z

It looks like we are going to get a new boat..varnish question
Mon, Jan 16, 2006 3:49 PM
However on the whole it is very easy to prep and apply and is very durable - especially if dealing with a new boat, as the original enquirer is. On top of which I am not a perfectionist when it comes to varnish as long as it looks pretty good. I just hate spending too much time on it - especially if it has to be done every year. I'd rather be cruising.

Boat Mattress
Tue, May 16, 2006 2:46 AM
This not always easy to judge at a boat show exhibit, so use your own home mattress as a starting point. If you like a pillow top medium firm mattress at home, get a similar one for the boat. Someone asked about Hand Craft Mattresses the other day and why choose them. For us, we had a past history with their product.

Screw head types
Mon, Jul 16, 2007 8:46 PM
One trick I read about recently when setting screws, slotted or particularly Philips, in holes that will be filled with plugs and glue, is to stick one of those adhesive paper "dots" on top of the screw head when it's seated home. Then glue in the plug.

Cutting and pasting is really easy in the new Outlook 2007 which I am using. You can copy several different passages to the Clipboard and just click on them to put them where you want when you open the new email you are going to send - they will appear on one side of the screen.

And when I consider the materials, accessory equipment and power options available today that weren't available say 50 years ago, it becomes pretty easy to agree.
