.> > Bill Fleenor REPLY I'm always looking at counter top appliances with a view to how well it might adapt to boat use and being run on an inverter. George Forman is marketing a series of grills cookers and such that really look to be energy efficient and compact for use on a counter top. when ot in use they can be stowed out of the way.

Electrical information Update on Water Misers
Wed, Nov 30, 2005 3:27 PM
I ordered them, describing in detail the type of holes in the tops of my batteries. The people answering the phone assured me the Water Misers would fit. They did not know anything about them or batteries as far as I could see. I ordered and received them.

Re: T&T: freshwater leak

The first (and most difficult to figure out) was that I had a small leak in the top of the polytheline water tank. If I ever overfilled the tank, a bit of water would squirt up and into a large recess on the top of the tank.

You can then replace the top plug, epoxy it in place, and screw or bolt to this much stronger area. Even better would be to glass in an entire fiberglass pedestall mounting surface with built in stainless t-nuts.

What did you use to top it up? I have a SeaStar and I believe the manual says to use their brand but in an emergency auto transmission fluid is ok. I suspect most use the auto trans fluid.

I'd start budgeting for a repair or replacement though, and don't throw any heavy objects on top of the tanks! Keith _____ "Start every day with a smile and get it over with." - W. C. sight glass for tanks

I had always thought that top tank pick-ups where only on gasoline tanks. I would be surprised that so many manufactures disregard this requirement. Could it be that this requirement is only for gasoline? Gil ---- I am extremely leery of any bottom of fuel tank fitting.

After equalization, it is often necessary to top-off the batteries with distilled water. In fact, with hindsight, it would be wise to top them off prior to equalization.
