Reserve Power

I suspect the top speed is somewhere around S/L = >>1.65. I really hesitate to use words like "top speed". Obviously if you belayed a tow line between a full displacement boat and the QE2 (as a horrible example) you would go as fast as she did....

RE: Propane Stoves..Which Is Best?

Pull out each of the burners on the top of the range and clean the push in contacts with a good contact cleaner. Also note that there are 2 different wattage of top elements. On ours one of the front elements is 750 watts and one is 1100 watts (I think). Note which is which and try using the higher wattage side for quicker heating.

The simplest way to flush an engine is to turn off the thruhull, open the top of the raw water filter and just stick a garden hose in it. Turn the water on part way, it will fill the filter and overflow in the bilge.

TWL: Fuel Tank Pickup
Fri, Apr 28, 2000 5:46 PM
I would think the same thing would happen if a top pickup hose bursts due to a siphoning action. I am sure this has been covered before but I was unable to find anything in the achieves. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, >Ron

RE: TWL: Still looking for Hydro-Caps
Wed, Jul 18, 2001 11:42 PM
Be careful not to tighten them down too hard...the tops can break off. I've just superglued a top or two back on its base, tho. Also, the hydrocaps must be custom made for your batteries...he'll send you a form to fill out...it's pretty detailed.

TWL: holding tank installation
Tue, Dec 11, 2001 2:03 PM
I would try to have all the connections to the tank on top if possible. I specified two discharge fittings on the top of my tank. They are fit with dip tubes that go to the bottom of the tank. One leads to the deck pumpout, and the other to the diaphragm pump. This eliminates the need for a Y-Valve there (one less place to leak.)
