Re: T&T: Walkaround deck vs. widebody

I know the whaleback had cleats up on top that you could tie up with at least temporarily. I really don't know if the KK44 has cleats up on top but that would be nice.. The KK44's wide body option leaves a walk around on one side and on the other there is not even a little perch for you stand on at all.

Second, I tried to paint the top coat over primer without changing the tape and when I finally removed the tape the primer was so dried that the tape pulled away parts of the primer/paint layers. It patched up OK though. I would re tape between primer and top coat myself, but I may have done something wrong in my application. Henry Wing O.A. 38 Ft.

Re: T&T: Racor inserts

it's needed on the older 500 series which have a fuel outlet near the top of the tube, above the element if you dont' use the spacer. teh racor insteructions included with elements show a picture of the filter, looking from the top, if the the tube at the bottom has flat top surfaces, you need the spacer. if it's not flat, you dont' need it.

Re: T&T: Cetol

I don't understand the use of applying "regular" cetol on top of the natural coats. Wouldn't that give your wood that "orangish cast" soo familiar with "regular/original" cetol? At one time I did use cetol top coat but found it challenging to remove when I needed to strip back down to bare wood.

Bridge openings

In order to lower the mast I must first take down my large bimini top. It is a two person job so if just my wife and I are aboard we must first find a place to anchor. Then we have to take the bimini top down. This is about a ten minute job. We then need to undo the boom and its rigging before I climb up onto the pilot house roof to undo the forestay.
