TWL: searching for a unique "Sofa-Couch"
Wed, Jan 5, 2000 2:43 PM
During my search for a 34 Mainship last year, I came across one that had a unique "Sofa-Couch" - instead of a "hard frame" that folds out, it was all "soft". 3 upholstered foam cushions were connected together - stacked 3 high "accordion-style", such that one could simply pull the top cushion out and forward to the floor - and the middle cushion followed.

I've now tried all the recipes with hardly any success.... Are you really certain the paint is on the surface? Can you _easily_ scratch it with a knife blade? If you can then the foam Easy-Off should work, but if you can't then your trouble is just beginning.

Re: TWL: what to do with used diesel fuel and filters
Mon, Apr 30, 2001 10:00 PM
If you haven't used an alcohol based product to try to make it burnable, it's easy. Pour some diesel into a clear container - gallon milk bottle or the such. Within a few minutes, the water will be on the bottom, the diesel on the top. Decant off the diesel. Pour the water plus a tiny amount of diesel that doesn't separate into a waste container.

Dockage is also at a premium as boats have started down, but with the high water, it is easy to find an anchorage. Use extreme caution with any floating Navaids, they are scattered all along the river. We were kayaking near Lacon on Sunday afternoon, 2 green cans came downstream at about 4 kts.
