Are you pulling legs or is there such a thing as a nautical slide rule with an electronic readout/display? I grew up with slide rules. That's what we used in the laboratory long before calculators were available - and I still use mine on the boat together with one-handed brass divider, parallel ruler, charts and of course my trusty Pelorus. How else could I check on the accuracy of my Loran C? ;-) Sly Drooling - George

Maybe we could talk "Practical Sailor" into doing something along that line. I could make the request to P.S. if so desired. (I am a member/subscriber). George of Scaramouche, Lake Ontario, Canada

Could you find out the source for this fluid. It would be a bargain even at triple that price. A few years ago I gave away a 12 ft METZELER for which I had paid $700 used, because I couldn't find the pinhole leaks.

Local Pittsburg Paints sells something (Armada or Cetol) in different tints and textures for about half the price of the "Marine" product. Been using it for years...

Frank, please give me the name and model number of the item you so highly praise. I would not think of going to my local marine store and ask for a thing called the "Ultimate Bilge Pump Switch as described by Frank Burrows on the internet." But I DO want to buy one! And please no reference to West Marine - we don't have them up here in Canada. Ciao - George of Scaramouche1
