Actually, I do use a nautical slide rule as I never can seem to keep fresh
batteries in my calculator. The slide rule must be solar powered or something
as it has never needed batteries for as long as I can remember.

That said, I just purchased a laptop and someone gave me one of these
electronic chart systems. I'm slowly crawling into the 1990's.

Are you pulling legs or is there such a thing as a nautical slide
rule with an electronic readout/display?

I grew up with slide rules. That's what we used in the laboratory
long before calculators were available - and I still use mine on the
boat together with one-handed brass divider, parallel ruler, charts
and of course my trusty Pelorus. How else could I check on the
accuracy of my Loran C?    ;-)
