Dave: I struggled with the same problem and decided on the newer aluminum frames with a thin skin of fiberglass on top. These types of tops are very light. The workers easily walk on these but you have to be careful. One thing I would caution is to really plan out the placement of any antennas you want to put on top.

The liquid filled Racor gauges always have a air bubble at the top. Also if the gauge does not return to zero then the instructions tell you to lift the little rubber plug at the top and then the gauge should zero out.
