Prior to departure they took care of all those nagging problems that the previous owner didn't take care of. Now the boat is in tip-top shape and has been well maintained for the year or so they were cruising and in many cases electronics have also been updated. Know what you want and stick with that make or model and find the best one you can.

Re: TWL: Re: More on Dinghy Davits

I should have emphasized that my "Zodiac" thing is the same material and adhesive as the rest of the dinghy, and Weaver said to just apply the pad over top of it. The dangers of my using too little information to advise. Sounds like you really are gaining on it.

Looking at the transformations in the above data, / => ? 1 =>q , => < CR => = m => } they are all single/multiple bit flips in the top nibble of the character hex value.

Re: [time-nuts] Encoded 1PPS signals

No need at all to encode time on the PPS signal you get that from the local counter. It is not hard at all to keep this accurate at the "few uSec level." In simpler terms, the PPS leading edge already gives you sub uSec time because you can run a fast-ticking clock and count the ticks after the leading edge of the PPS.

Re: [time-nuts] Glass Envelope Quartz Crystals

To complete the story: Later the all-glass enclosures HC-27 and HC-26 came up, which have the same outer dimensions and pin spacing as the old HC-6/U and HC-18/U metal enclosures. The sealing technology was as follows: There was a ring of Kovar embedded in the upper side of the header. The glass-cover was positioned on top of this Kovar ring.

Connecticut Bird Atlas Off to a Good Start . . .
Mon, Jul 2, 2018 7:44 PM
Over the last four days (of hot weather, even on Cape Cod) I’ve done a run through of all 605 Connecticut Bird Atlas Blocks to get a rough idea of the extent of data being reported. Block results are updated on a fairly regular basis, so the numbers are fluid, but here’s what I’ve found in this initial pass through the CT Bird Atlas website.
