TWL: Fly Bridge Enclosures & canvas

40 mil Stratoglass seems like the way to go - but expensive. One outfit here suggests using it only on the front and 20 mil on the sides and back - another says it is best to have it all around. Another suggestion was using cloth for the ties that hold the rolled up curtains, less abrasive. Fabric is another issue. I hate the "mildew" look.

Inside first a layer of heavy alumium foil, then put a vapor barrier of at least 20 mil plastic, then cut the sheets of foam so that they fit exactly-=fill any corners with pour in place foam. Next another layer of 20 mil vapor barrier, and build an inside box--fiberglass or SS.

However, all our anodes have one thing in common -- they are made of Mil-Spec alloys. The importance of Mil-Spec zinc is described at http://www.boatzincs.com/use_milspec_a18001k.html. All our zinc anodes conform to this specification. The Reliance and Martyr brands are both produced in Vancouver BC.

A few other things I will share: 1) When I was looking at alternators I had the chance to visit Ample Power and chat with the owner, David Smead. This guy is a serious 12-volt geek (and coming from me that is a real compliment).

There are some inexpensive plastic connectors that are compatible (I can't remember the part number, but if they are MicroD, I'll track it down).

coastal towns to visit from I-95

John Edwards asked about coastal towns to visit. If you like historic towns with coastal connections, it would be a shame to miss Dairen Georgia and Savannah Georgia. Lots of history and well preserved historic districts. Robert Barber Trawler "MS LILIA"
