sparrows and swifts

Noting which colours are on which legs, and if there are two on the same leg which is on top, would be especially helpful.  Seeing legs with binoculars is not easy, but as the seaside sparrow observation shows, it is possible. Also, Margaret has been checking a swift roost site in Willimantic and had 334 going in on May 5th.

Both were singing continually so were fairly easy to the locate. Also a highlight for me was seeing a Red Eft (juvenile form of Red-spotted Newt) that was seen along the trail.

It is easy to use and works as described if you follow directions. Dew or even rain settling while it is curing will cause a blush. A light sanding before the next coat takes care of it. Normally, sanding between coats is not required with this product.

I think the one really interesting, turn it on, turn it off, interference by a PC was unreproducible when Boeing bought the lap top and chartered the airplane. Gas stations are a little tricky. They periodically explode from improper use of a plastic pail...so it is easy to blame any cell phone nearby.

TWL: (Another) Cautionary tale

I could see still the top of the shaft, so we hadn't completely lost it. (Whew, we weren't taking on water too badly, and saved some money there!) Once again thankful for Vessel Assist card purchase. Tuesday I'll have a diver try to push the shaft back, which won't be easy, of course. (Any special tricks or techniques for doing this in the water?)

Fueling vessals -Another Remedy
Wed, Jan 26, 2005 7:03 PM
I made it of aluminum but it is easy to do in plastic water pipe fittings that are glued together. Of course I put a screen over the goose neck vent. It is great. No clogged vents and no fuel spitting overboard. CCC Charles C. Jr., and Pat Culotta M/V CCRIDER Patterson, La. http://www.geocities.com/charlesculotta

Spitting fuel vent was fuel flow rate
Sun, Jun 12, 2005 7:57 PM
A second reason for fuel spitting out the vents is that the fuel fill rate is higher than the vents are designed to handle, along with the vents being set too low to the top of the tanks. Solution is on my web page. Click on Repairs, then Fuel Vent. For a picture of the vent reservoir , cl. on pics of CCRIDER, and go to page two.

When the boat was out of the water it was easy to adjust the pitch setting if necessary for better performance. Cheers Al Binnington GB 36 FALKOR Guelph, Ontario Canada __________________________________________________________________ Look What The New Netscape.com Can Do!
