This morning while exploring the Happy Valley area and taking some of the trails I came across a Acadian Flycatcher and a Hooded Warbler. Both were singing continually so were fairly easy to the locate. Also a highlight for me was seeing a Red Eft (juvenile form of Red-spotted Newt) that was seen along the trail.
From the parking lot where the trails start the Flycatcher was seen by taking the trail behind the large sign and walking for about 5 minutes to where the trail runs along side a small creek. The bird sang continually while I was in the area.
The warbler (a bright male) was seen by taking the other trail from the parking lot, starting between 2 cement posts. Walk up the slope for ~100+ metres to the top and the bird was singing on the right hand side. It was in about 50m from the path.
