If I read all these post on battery boxes (which I'm building this weekend) correct, 1. they should be lined with fiberglass to prevent acid leaks (also adding baking soda inside the box is a good idea). 2. the top should protect the battery terminals. 3. the top should be ventilated and the cables should come out the sides of the top. 4.

Dog River Marina and Eastern Shore Marine are reported as sending all boats they can't put on the hard up to Demopolis or Columbus. Most Loopers in the area are planning to scramble as soon as they can.

I have to assume that east of Mobile it is still clear and free. I do not know if the entrance to Pensacola is being protected as is Mobile Bay or not, it is far wider than here. Any info on that Bob Austin? All for now... Marge Griffith Boatless on Mobile Bay

Good Weather Sources for the Gulf (a bit long)

Hello all, we are headed north on the Tenn Tom and I wanted to share three sources of marine weather information that were exceptional as we traveled from Clearwater to Mobile. All are part of NOAA National Marine Weather Service and the exceptional part is that you can speak directly with a forecaster.
