Re: GL: The Future of Economical Cruising??
Mon, Jan 30, 2006 12:22 AM
BUT.....most people cannot predict the top of the market, nor the bottom, so they better be careful because if they sell at the bottom and have to buy back at the top....OOOOpps, Keeping a home does not include any risk when it comes to markets, others yes, but not markets. You have one, you have one, no market tops or bottoms to worry about.

[Ontbirds] Detroit river-unidentified goose specie
Wed, Dec 14, 2016 6:24 PM
Top of tail appeared all white.Wing beat faster than most geese species. Wings uniform in color and slightly greyish on top with darker underwings. No white in wings at all.I could not discern color of legs or feet or under tail coverts as it was in flight and I was observing from 9 stories up from my apartment.

I used valves on the top and bottom with a 90 elbow to hose barb. Used a clear plastic tube for the sight portion.

RE: TWL: Fewer Holes

The top of the chest was just above the waterline. A single big opening 6" + diameter with a top notch seacock fed the whole chamber. Since the top was above normal water level you could open up the lid and get at the opening to free up any debris that clogged it. A crow bar or ram rod could be poked down to unblock anything short of a cement plug.

One at top, one at bottom, the third one is in the middle and is used as an overfill. To empty the pump remove the top plug and then the bottom. Then replace the bottom plug and remove the middle plug. When the new oil comes out of this plug the pump is normal filled. Replace the middle plug and the top plug and you are done. Regards. Leonard Stern.

TWL: Woofers
Sun, Feb 1, 2004 4:12 PM
With the sound opening which is at the top pointing towards a grill. Is there a problem with horizontal installation? Also since the woofer would be lying on sound insulation (the engine room is below) should it be raised up or can it just lie on top of this?

Hardtop Replacement for Bimini
Mon, Aug 30, 2004 12:54 AM
Is there any interest in replacing your Bimini top with a cored fiberglass hard top capable of mounting Solar panels, Radar etc? I'd envision a boltrope type of connection for isinglass front, side, and back panels. I know a guy who can craft a mold as opposed to a "one-off" hardtop if there's interest.

Diesel Revolution
Thu, Apr 21, 2005 3:24 PM
I had some blades on a prior boat moderately cupped and it reduced my top RPM a few hundred revolutions. I did not care since I never ran anywhere near top RPM anyway. Rob Brueckner 1972 Hatteras Yachtfisherman

Re: T&T: Thoughts on holding tank outflow placement
Wed, Jan 25, 2006 6:04 PM
Just tapping off the tank w/o the 'P' would allow the vacuum to break as the top edge of the outlet pipe is exposed. I routed this to the top of the tank and placed my 'Y' valve on top. Then used hosing to get to the pumpout fitting and macerator. -al- ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul W.
