Re: TWL: vacuum gauge on top of Racor filter
Sat, Apr 21, 2001 11:29 PM
The liquid filled Racor gauges always have a air bubble at the top. Also if the gauge does not return to zero then the instructions tell you to lift the little rubber plug at the top and then the gauge should zero out. I learned this by returning the gauge and after I installed the second one I got around to reading the instructions.

Hard-Top Addition and Other Modifications
Wed, May 12, 1999 9:00 PM
I especially would appreciate your thoughts and advice on the first one, which is to replace the bimini with a fiberglass hardtop (for a more secure and weather-proof top). The fixed top will eliminate the great circle route, but that's OK with me. Any other things to consider? Can you recommend anyone in the St. Petersburg area for this work?

Dave also finished in the top 40% of his age group and the top 30% overall despite increasing the degree of difficulty by completing the 10K run in socks (I can’t wait to get the rest of the story!)… That’s quite a feet, Dave, way to toe!

COA Website - poor performance
Wed, Apr 21, 2021 6:40 PM
This morning around 10am our COA website performance became really slow, sometimes unreachable, and sometimes showing errors. Coincidentally, this occurred while Cynthia Ehlinger and I were making important changes to the website (more to come but significant updates applied).

TWL: Boot Top Width
Wed, May 7, 2003 1:10 PM
Looking for guidance on the width of the boot top. Current plan is for dk green topsides, white boot, and red bottom. Existing width tells me nothing, as the boot and the bottom are both black. Previous boats have had light or white topsides with a dark boot.

Re: T&T: Hard top up-fit

A welded frame is a third or less the weight of a hard top, unless you up the price considerably and go with carbon and epoxy. You can do a hybrid top of welded frame and thin fiberglass panels, but still more expensive than a laced vinyl top and there is the incompatible fastener issue joining the panels to the frame.

There is a deck plate in the aft cockpit that accesses the top of the rudder post. The emergency tiller mates to a key way on the top of the rudder post. No muss, no fuss. Old sail boaters never die........they just lose the wind in their sails. tempus fugit Patrick
