Waves, fuel load,current, boat speed and even wind can all affect boat height and the ability to safely pass...those and safety clearance are all the captain's responsibility.

As far as I know none have a voltage-controlled oscillator but that would certainly be interesting :-) The RTC's current purpose is to keep time while the system is off, as it can run for many years from a lithium coin cell, and to wake the system at a scheduled time if desired.

All of those problems are eliminated using an equalizer. So, all in all, I think that the equalizer is the way to go. By the way, just as an aside, I also kept as many of my loads as possible (all lighting, SSB, windlass, starting, etc.) 24 volt in order to minimize 12 volt drain.

Another member was pretty creative he was a real estate agent, and as a side business did water tours of homes(Guess which ones got top billing). Again, he took the class so that he could protect himself with insurance.

On the other hand, what is a fellow to do if he gets into rough water and has to slow down which lowers the effect of the stabilizers, which is all that is keeping the boat from rolling excessively?
