I'm driving to Seattle today to attend the Graphic Artists Guild's workshop on "Building Websites with Wordpress" being presented by Bill Dunn at noon today. I plan on leaving Tacoma at 10:30am in case traffic is bad and to do a little schmoozing before the meeting, and - time permitting - grab a bite to eat as this is a bring your own lunch event. If you would like a free ride there and back please contact me before before 10:20am.
Here is the link for the event information, ticket prices etc. Don't worry. I can drive there blindfolded.

Cut and past of the description.
Designers everywhere are looking at WordPress. Whether they use it for their own site, or for their clients, designers love the ease of the WordPress content management system.
But with all the options for themes and plugins out there, how can you possibly know where to start or what will work best?
In his 20 years of experience as a graphic designer, Bob had a front row seat to the transition from print to web to WordPress. He has learned the best ways to use his accumulated design skills to make the website design process as painless as possible. From his extensive work with causal users, Bob also knows that Wordpress isn't always the easiest thing to learn.
In this workshop Bob will share:
What a designer should know about WordPress and if it's even the right choice for you
What to consider when deciding on what theme to use for your own site or a client's
Options for plugins that allow you to share your portfolio
The differences between out-of-the-box themes, frameworks and drag-and-drop
Some options for designers who are looking for a way to learn WordPress
Bob and his wife Judy owned Cat's Eye Marketing for 20 years, where they provided graphic design, marketing and copywriting for small to medium-sized businesses.
In 2007, Bob discovered WordPress and a year later brought it in as a tool for client projects. Because he has taught over 150 local workshops on WordPress and blogging, spoken at numerous conferences and WordCamps, and taught thousands of users in person and online, Bob understands the pain points when it comes to wrapping your brain around WordPress.
Bob is a full-time WordPress trainer and the teacher behind his membership site, BobWP Tutorials. He lives with Judy on a small island in south Puget Sound.
