Free Avon and Evinrude
Sun, Feb 6, 2005 1:39 AM
I am willing to give the avon and evinrude, free of charge, to the first person who responds to me directly and wants them. At the end of the month I'll arrange with whomever wants them to either get the dinghy to the fuel dock where it can be taken away by car or we can arrange to transfer it to your boat.

Re: T&T: Copper fuel lines vs USCG rated fuel hose

There is another company that makes a similar quality fitting system, >but I can't remember their name right off. I do agree with getting rid of >copper and replacing it with USCG approved fuel hose, and have been doing >just that on my boat. I strongly second this. I've been working with Swagelok fittings for thirty years, and they are excellent.

Re: T&T: Advice on Equalizing & Tackometer?

The reason I am following this thread is that I also have the problem of "jumping tach", when my 3-stage regulator goes to float and the alternator output drops to a level where the tach has problems reading the frequency of the pulses.

He still dreams and talks about those boats and I personally would buy one sight unseen because of what I heard about them. In any case, Ted Brewer couldn't do anything wrong (in my book). I sail and liveaboard on a Hullmaster 27, a total Brewer design and build in Picton, Canada.

TWL: that brown plastic look...
Mon, Apr 9, 2001 2:16 PM
I don't know what you guys are doing. Ever since being introduced to Cetol/Armada by a brush wielding neighbour in 1995, I have been using Armada (less stain and a bit cheaper) and have yet to see brown or plastic. My teak and some mahogany look just like lightly oiled wood, no peeling and eminently grippable even when wet (grabrails, cockpit steps etc).

Re: TWL: 12 Volt Inverter

I suggest you try that out before you hardwire and install. Just had a problem with one of those screw-in fluorescents: Was trying to use it with a photo-diode switch and regular 110 V AC (shorepower). When it came on (after dark) the bulb flickered very noticeable and I had to undo the whole setup.

I promised to dig it out. However in the meantime I forgot who wanted it. (Fat-finger-delete-button). Well here is the info and I hope it will get to the right person.
