Re: [time-nuts] Trimble T-Bolt Order

When I wrote asking about delivery, the office replied that they had no record of it, even though the website indicated a successful transaction. I left it too long before I asked, and they had all gone. Disappointing. Regards, John.

Other AIS weirdness

All of this reminds me of something a former United Airlines chief Boeing 777 pilot, and also an active trawler driver and a member of my yacht club, once told me..."radar is truth, all the rest is just theory."

The bias function was all of a sudden known and the bias grew for some noises as you went for 1000 samples, 10000 samples etc. to infinity... so 2-sample variance was indeed more useful. That's how it was coined as Allan's variance by fellow researchers. He also looked at the bias function for measurements with dead-time, another obsticle of its day.

Re: GL: Short Term Cell and Data Plans

Virgin Mobile required a US address to purchase a data plan with a credit card, so I was able to get around that by purchasing "pay as you go cards" for Virgin Mobile from Walmart as well. For $50 a month I had unlimited data access. I found Virgin's cellular coverage to be pretty good especially along the eastern seaboard.

Make certain a ball valve is used at the bottom so replacement is easy but most importantly so it can be closed off all the time except when you check the level. The top should go either into the tank top or to a vent. This bottom connection is also a good place to put a drain so you can strip out any water that may accumulate from condensation.

>I have freshly done traditional varnish on all right now. Has anyone added Bristol over the top, and how did it work out? Also, will Bristol come off with traditional methods when it's lifespan is up? Bristol, at least the Bristol Amber, can be applied on top of traditional spar varnish IF the varnish is in good condition.

I removed the top to get to the electrode pack and I saw pink stuff in the stream coming from the freshwater tank. New pack! Now raritan tells me that all I have to do is vacuum the Lectrasan through the plug on top. Have not had a problem since. Hans ( deckhand on Peggy's boat)
