Re: GL: LOW cost AIS

It was useless in Mobile Harbor because of the number of hits, mostly from moored ships. This is typical of all large harbors, including NY, Elizabeth, Baltimore, Norfolk/Portsmouth, Morehead City, Charleston and Savannah. It has never been of any value on the Neuse River, Pamlico or Albemarle Sounds, Cape Fear or Beaufort River, or Port Royal Sound.

Need for Floscan
Thu, May 26, 2005 1:37 PM
After a days run we top off the tanks. The rule when we leave a marina is all tanks full. We did look into Floscan for piece of mind. However the cost to outfit two gas engines with complete units was such that I could top off my tanks at every stop and pay a high price and not justify the expense. However nothing replaces how much feel good you want.

The entrance is open to the sea and covered with a grate and the top should be slightly above the water level so that the top can be remover and the chest cleaned out.Hope this helps. fred flinn _______________________________________________ http://lists.samurai.com/mailman/listinfo/trawler-world-list

I leave the top screwed in place until I need to empty the pan. Handy as hell, fits almost everywhere and, best of all, it was free! Regards, Randy Pickelmann hard aground in Clearwater, FL MORNING STAR lying in Solomon's, MD www.morningstar.talkspot.com
