Need for Floscan

Greetings, We start the great loop June 1st from New London, CT.  We also
have very inaccurate fuel gages. I use one mile one gallon and have yet to run
out of fuel. After a days run we top off the tanks. The rule when we leave a
marina is all tanks full. We did look into Floscan for piece of mind. However the
cost to outfit two gas engines with complete units was such that I could top
off my tanks at every stop and pay a high price and not justify the expense.
However nothing replaces how much feel good you want. Phil & Vicki. Mid-Life

I have a couple of friends with gas engines that have the Navman fuel flow
meters, and they say they won't be without them. One of them traded boats
this Spring and the fuel flow meter was the first upgrade he made to the new
boat. (38ft Carver with twin 454's)  You can get the basic ones for gas
engines  for $170 each (gph and fuel remaining). At that price and
considering the price of fuel and amount gas boats use, there would be no
question in my mind that it would be a great investment for a gas boat.

Diesels are a little different story. A twin setup for diesels in any brand
that I'm aware of is in the $1200 to $2000 range, depending on what all
features you want. Even at that price, with diesel prices climbing, they are
way up on my "want list".

A set of Twin Scan  gauges is definitely on my want list
for my 355AC Carver.  I will get TwinScan for fuel and
put it in one current tachometer hole.  Will replace the
other tachometer with a TwinScan tachometer.
