TWL: RE: Re: e-mail address (no trawler content)

Unfortunately, this acknowledgement mechanism makes it easy for spammers to - for instance - hit all combination of names in a domain, see which ones bounce, and then assume that the others were delivered. So...it is _now_ common practice to turn off all server-based acknowledgements.

for all who love furniture, re-sponsibly

All of his pieces are made from recycled and reclaimed materials: plywood scraps, salvaged hardwoods, even old unwanted pianos. Steve will be on hand to "talk shop" and to discuss his techniques and his "philosophy".

Re: T&T: Installing Corian or Like Ilk

All of Swan Song's counter tops are Corian which I made from two sheets of 1/2". We just ordered it from a supplier in Puerto Rico and it was delivered to us in the BVI by ship a couple of weeks later. It has worked very well for us aboard in both the galley and the heads.

Re: T&T: Do any of you do this to your cooling system?
Thu, Sep 17, 2009 3:59 PM
Upon inspection, the thickness of the top cover allows only a very short threaded segment for the installation. There was also some dissimilar metal corrosion. All in all it appeared to be a disaster waiting to happen. I took the rig out and put on new top covers. Your mileage may vary. Dan Stone St.

Rolling that all back …. not at all easy. >> Are there other systems that have issues with sync? Of course there are. There also are a lot >> of instances where miss-configuration ( or junk implementation) is a much bigger issue. Sorting >> that all out requires a deep dive into the timing of each individual system / implementation.

Re: T&T: Documentation Renewal Scam

The design of the website, the correspondence, the reaction from the USCG and Boat/US along with all the other warnings appearing on this and many other forums are all indicative of a business that uses deceit as an integral part of its business model. That's undeniable.

TWL: RE: Battery Terminal Covers
Thu, Jul 10, 2003 4:04 PM
A simple piece of plywood covering the tops of the batteries will work. All your surveyor wants is to prevent any possibility of a dropped metal object, tool or part falling upon the terminal posts. ABYC requires that all 12 volt positive connections be protected from possibility of accidental contact.
