Re: T&T: Installing Corian or Like Ilk
Sat, Dec 8, 2007 3:43 PM
All of Swan Song's counter tops are Corian which I made from two sheets of 1/2". We just ordered it from a supplier in Puerto Rico and it was delivered to us in the BVI by ship a couple of weeks later. It has worked very well for us aboard in both the galley and the heads.

Re: T&T: Do any of you do this to your cooling system?

Upon inspection, the thickness of the top cover allows only a very short threaded segment for the installation. There was also some dissimilar metal corrosion. All in all it appeared to be a disaster waiting to happen. I took the rig out and put on new top covers. Your mileage may vary. Dan Stone St.

Re: GL: From Carabelle to Mobile Bay and from Tarpon Springs to Cedar Keys

We headed toward Steinhatchee, then about 30 miles out we headed south toward Tarpon with the intent of doing an all nighter. We found so many traps that we decided to just anchor out. Had a breeze come up for a couple of hours around midnight, but otherwise it was a normal anchorage, except for being 10 miles out in the Gulf.

Ken posts: > I continue to follow the Xmas tree principle and at night light up the >boat with darn near everything I've got - deck lights and all -- and once or >twice have been damn glad of it . Sorrry, but I think that this is an extremely bad idea.

Re: T&T: Documentation Renewal Scam

The design of the website, the correspondence, the reaction from the USCG and Boat/US along with all the other warnings appearing on this and many other forums are all indicative of a business that uses deceit as an integral part of its business model. That's undeniable.

TWL: RE: Battery Terminal Covers

A simple piece of plywood covering the tops of the batteries will work. All your surveyor wants is to prevent any possibility of a dropped metal object, tool or part falling upon the terminal posts. ABYC requires that all 12 volt positive connections be protected from possibility of accidental contact.

Then I suggest you ask on Windows Mobile SDK forum, how to access device ring tone, so you can invoke it. Hope this helps. Regards, -- Perry Ismangil
