TWL: RE: all chain rode
Mon, Jul 28, 2003 7:35 PM
I want this to be as comfortable & safe as possible for all concerned and I like the idea of the all chain rode for holding power. My questions are this. A very knowledgeable dock neighbor warned me that in his experience the all chain rode caused problems with the chain going in somewhat dirty & stinking up the boat.

The laced to welded frame top on Another Asylum, 18' x 12', black Shelter-Rite, went on in 2001 and hasn't been off since then and still feels rubbery.

Had one die on me not so long ago. I had even taken the starter out to the local alternator shop to have it and the solenoid checked before we finally figured out the problem. Rich Gano CALYPSO (GB-42 #295) Southport, FL

They are suseptible here as not only is it a mix, but impingment corrosion is a factor here too> This corrosion, at exhast elbow, is quite often missed and misdiagnosed; will cause the engine to miss, and even die.
