For which I will not hold my breath, as I might die of asphyxiation, instead of drowning. The latter being preferable for a real seaman. For a writer of prose the preferred method is traumatic shock induced by visual images, with captions. Capt. Mike Maurice Near Portland Oregon.

I had sent my message directly to you rather than to the list because I thought that this thread on the list needed to be allowed to die a natural death. I still feel that way. I think there were errors on both sides, but what is done is done, so let's all now move on to other things.

I bought a proper die crimper from my local commercial electric supplier. It has a set of rotating dies which allow for crimping #8 through 4/0 non-insulated lugs. It is a large tool with handles about 24" long, but crimping 4/0 connectors is pretty easy, and #8 don't even take any effort.

Some folks use a drill with a short piece of coat hanger--die grinder or Dremel tool. I would find out if the core is saturated in other places also check all thru hull fittings. If the rest of the core is fine, and there is no blistering or delamination, then properly seal all hull holes and replace the fittings.

He said, "Good, cause you're going to need 'em when all those little critters die and clog up your filters." I bought a couple more filters and we left. He was right. The next day and two Racor filter changes later, we could finally carry on unimpeded.

Relative to your comment about burning plastic being toxic, a lot of people trapped in burning wooden houses die from smoke inhalation, don't they? It's also possible for an engine to 'die' at an unnaturally young age through misuse, disuse, poor maintenance, or just bad luck. Without having seen the ads to which you refer, I'm guessing that what is meant is that the engine in question has low hours ON a recent rebuild.
