Mystery Bird Revealed
Fri, Feb 19, 2010 1:43 PM
The tail feathers, wings and top of his head are in fact solid black which is why it is very easy to confuse with something like a northern shrike until you see the details of the head and beak.    In my book, its still very neat to see. There aren't many birds this size that come in white.

Re: Rotozip Tool

I own the RotoZip tool and used it to cut the holes in my cabin top for my dorades. Excellent tool. It takes a little practice to control to close tolerance cuts but does everything they say. Buy extra bits as they very brittle and easy to break if you are careless for just a second.

Re: TWL: Underwater exhaust for noise supression...WOW!

At idle, there are a series of small holes along the top of the L through which the raw water sprays out, so it's easy to make sure that cooling water is moving. Not sure if this counts as underwater exhaust, but it certainly quiets things down.

TWL: water tanks and vents
Fri, May 2, 2003 2:31 AM
A vent line is too easy to install to not do it thus having to put up with a very slow fill rate. I have a similar set up with two fuel tanks , except that they are side by side with a 3 inch connector hose. Each tank is vented to help the fill process.

Re: T&T: Anchor lights

The only downside is that it has a fairly wide base and you have to fabricate something in order to mount it on top of the mast. It has a very cold white color that makes your boat very easy to spot in an anchorage. It uses so little power that I just wired it into an instrument circuit and did not bother to put a switch on it. Highly recommended.

With a small group, a note taped to the top was probably good enough. One of the complications is software licensing. Back in the days of physical dongles it was easy to keep the dongle with a PC. It gets much more complicated with network licensing servers. -- These are my opinions. I hate spam.

Re: suggestion window options override
Thu, Jun 3, 2021 7:16 PM
Another alternative option that occurs to me is to just have two big buttons in the top left corner, one called "Customizer" and the other "Edit Code". This would make it obvious and easy to flick between window configurations.
