Eden VT - Northern Hawk Owl continues
Thu, Jan 15, 2009 1:40 AM
Arrived around noon and the owl was perched in the top of a spruce tree right behind the black mail box #1111.  Temp was 0 degrees, no wind, sunny with nice blue sky.  We were the only birders there for about an hour before a local stopped by.  Very easy to find but a long ride from New Haven.

TWL: Oil on Teak Decks
Thu, Mar 20, 2003 1:09 AM
easy maintenance but I am worried about any deleterious effects of the oil on the caulking.> Having spent most of last summer recaulking our top deck, I can attest to the deleterious effects of teak oil on the bond between the caulking and the teak.

Snake River level Gauges
Mon, Sep 19, 2005 4:54 AM
They were OEM on the water tanks, but had no level gauge on the holding tank, so I called them, & they made me up a new panel , which also showed the waste tank, the new PC board & the foil tape that goes up the side of the tank (about 2" wide) from top to bottom.. I installed mine without looking, by just sliding my hand up one of the tank sides....easy.

The plug makes for a quick and easy disconnect. Once off the boat I hose it down and then place it in a bucket where the rods get brushed with Muriatic acid. If I notice two lights staying on at the same time between major cleanings, a sharp tap on the top of the unit will get it working again. If not, out it comes. RC

I've been known to just stack a 150 Ohm 1% chip resistor on top of a 75 Ohm chip resistor to bring the result down to 50 Ohms. Beats having to 1) remove the old part, 2) clean up the pads, then 3) get the new one soldered down.
