[Ontbirds] late Hummingbird, 2 foxes, blue-headed vireo AND 2 GOLDEN EAGLES among 270 migrating raptors-Cranberry--Oct.26
Thu, Oct 26, 2006 7:52 PM
The mild N-NW winds and blue sky were not the best for a raptor flight, let alone make it easy to spot the birds. However, I am grateful for the large numbers of observers coming to help withe data-collecting. By mid-AM the Red-shouldereds and Red-taileds started to come across, along with 2 very distant GOLDEN EAGLES.

and got PHILIPS, PM6681, 0, MAIN V1.09  26 JAN 2001 / GPIB V1.13  26 JAN 2001 So connection is good. Interestingly the *IDN command description says the PM6681 will return its SN but the SN field here is 0. Oh well, not important. Then I sent *PUD?

Solar Energy
Sun, Mar 20, 2005 2:14 PM
Lacking space to mount an adequate solar array at present I am thinking of replacing my existing Bimini top with what I will refer to as a "pipe welder" style top. This would consist of a solid frame of perhaps 2" diameter stainless pipe with one of those Biminis that is I think of a vinyl material that is laced to the frame.

Pump leaks ( Was Wheere's antifreeze going?)
Sat, Apr 23, 2005 12:12 PM
Depending on the pump style, you can add a "cover" over the top of any pump case opening to contain water spraying from the shaft. A piece of inner tube rubber or gasket material can be easily affixed with plastic ties. My prior 6V53 pumps were open on top, my current 71 series pumps are enclosed, so don't spray even if leaking.
