TWL: RE: RE: NYS boat registration
Mon, Mar 15, 2004 9:23 PM
http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/dmvfaqs.htm#BOATS and http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/forms/boats.pdf The free dockage behind my MIL's for the beasts makes up for it though. NJ is a bit more lenient if the boat isn't homeported there, e.g. you get 6 months of free play in local waters before you're required to register.

Re: T&T: Waterproof computers

If you are not interested in a tablet computer, then I would recommend that you look for computers that are built and tested to the MIL-STD-810 standard. This standard documents all of the environmental testing required for militarized hardware.

Sea Recovery vs Village Marine Watermakers
Mon, Aug 21, 2006 1:58 AM
Village Marine manufactures to Mil Spec and Theirs are the units installed for the military and on all Coast Guard boats. When I contacted Sea Recovery to inquire why I should buy their unit and why is it better. The only response was we have been in business longer.

ideas on how to protect flat varnished surfaces getting lots of use
Mon, Mar 14, 2011 7:43 PM
I have looked at a variety of of 20 or 30 mil flexible plastics that can be cut with scissors (like really thick saran wrap) and it isn't slippery but wonder if it will react with the varnished surface. Anyhow, I am sure you get the idea and if anyone has the solution that is the cat's ass let me know.

Re: T&T: Diesel Lubricity
Tue, Apr 26, 2011 12:21 AM
We use a mil-spec lubricity additive that was recommended when we bought the boat by both the diesel shop we use as well as a good friend who was a design engineer for one of the major marine engine and generator manufacturers for 30+ years.

But I've since found out that the abuse > pretty much all stratum 1 servers, including several .edu, .gov > and .mil servers. > > Now they probably regret they didn't just pay off my claim from the > start. I'm also sorry, Poul-Henning, that you are the latest victim of firmware stupidity.
