Steering station up top for visibility and out of the way in the living spaces. Easy to change ladder to flybridge to angled stairs when you don't plan on fighting fish in the cockpit. Enclose flybridge with AC and heat for year round comfort. It really doesn't take much to push a boat at displacement speed. Bob Phillips, Another Asylum, Tortola, BVI

Re: Question about Trimble NetR9 receiver options

Like all devices that write to flash memory, there’s only just so long that will keep working. Eventually they will die. When they go bonkers, a firmware reload *might* fix the problem. How long it stays fixed … who knows. A full up firmware upgrade and repair contract from your local dealer is about $1,250 or so per year.

Re: T&T: Door Removal

To do this, of course you have to move the door forwards and backwards to remove all of the screws. Then simply pull the bottom of the door out, off of the sill with the track still inside the door. Pull the bottom of the door out away from the opening as far as necessary to clear the top of the door frame.

Re: [OpenSCAD] Cut Object out of cube doesn't work

Meshlab shows it has a problem (the ...fixed.stl) The top bit is not manifold. The lower red circle shows what looks like a infinitely thin face, that's likely a problem, there are similar ones in the middle area at the base of the T too. Fixing that is sometimes not easy.

BGA's are about as easy to rework as anything else. You use a hot air rework station, and an underboard preheater. The hot air rework station has a manifold that constrains the hot air to heat the entire top surface of the BGA, and when the solder melts, the chip will pop right off.

I wouldn't be too picky about getting a 48V one versus 24V one - it's better than nothing, and it's quite easy to change the external PS to 24V. Go with whichever one you can find. If you can't find anything at all, and build an alternate system, you'll need to replicate the outer oven control, besides supplying the main board power. Ed

All this is a relatively far-out project, but I am getting the pieces together.
