Re: Engine Life of a diesel engine
Sat, Jul 24, 2004 6:42 PM
It's also possible for an engine to 'die' at an unnaturally young age through misuse, disuse, poor maintenance, or just bad luck. Without having seen the ads to which you refer, I'm guessing that what is meant is that the engine in question has low hours ON a recent rebuild.

Eventually the voters are going to have to raise a fuss and have the nav aids and search and rescue operations moved out of the homeland security department where they will die if left to the brass in Washington DC. Regards, Mike Capt. Mike Maurice Tualatin(Portland), Oregon

Perkins 6.354 oil filter

All the name brands-- Die Hard, Interstate, etc., etc., etc. come from these two manufacturers. There are more than two filter manufacturers, but it's the same idea. The same is true for fuel pumps. The trick there is to specify the one for the cheapest car - e.g. Bosch used to make the same pump for VW, BMW and Ferrari.

I wore out an impact hammer, a die grinder, and broke the shank on my needle scaler with it when doing the rust work on Entropy. It was recommended by the maintenance man at work who has the same unit for portability reasons.

Fatal voyage of Well Deserved

"I don't want to die," Jackie pleaded, her words muffled by duct tape. "I have a new grandchild in Arizona. I want to see him." Her husband leaned back, reaching for her hand, trying to calm her. Three armed assailants loomed over the Prescott couple, ordering them to sign title documents for the boat, demanding all their bank account information.

Had one die on me not so long ago. I had even taken the starter out to the local alternator shop to have it and the solenoid checked before we finally figured out the problem. Rich Gano CALYPSO (GB-42 #295) Southport, FL

When they die or we loose parts we buy another set. If exposed to sunlight all day, they come on at sunset and last all night. If you want lights that last a long time and are brighter you will need to wire them into your 12 volt system.
