Re: TWL: Binoculars
Fri, Dec 7, 2001 4:40 AM
Like you, I walked away to do a little thinking.... When I returned after an hour or so, the binoculars were gone -sold at less than what I was prepared to pay. Ever since, I curse my indecisiveness that day and keep looking in all fleamarkets etc for a return. Sofar no luck.

Re: T&T: Fuel return shutoff valve on FL-135

Then I put a big label saying "These valves to be left open at all times". And then (here's the important part) I removed the handles and put on on a hook in the engine room. Voila. If I really need to turn off the return, I grab a handle, slip it over the valve stem, and turn it off.

Re: T&T: Starting Diesel Engines
Tue, Dec 29, 2009 4:55 PM
I am planning on adding a small handwheel to adjust the idle for cold starts, because I do not have any throttle control down in the engine room where I start the engine. BTW if I adjust for 600 RPM cold idle, the warm idle is very high (950 RPM or so).

Alright here is my confession: The first Diesel I ever owned was a single cylinder SABB. In appearance and attitude he was a bear and hailing from Scandinavia, I instantly named him Bjorg, meaning Bear.

TWL: Pocket Mail Billing
Thu, Sep 20, 2001 1:50 PM
I want you all to be aware of this situation: I signed up with PocketMail a year ago in September 2000, giving them my Master Card number by phone. I did not want to renew but on my last MasterCard statement appears a $239.- CDN item from PocketMail (renewal for one year). They had send no invoice, no statement, nothing.
