Understanding FFT spectrum
Thu, Sep 28, 2017 5:44 PM
I read that non-linearity in the TX amplifier could cause harmonics at fc +/- N*10Khz (fc = 5.24 GHz). Could you please confirm that this is what is happening here ? If so, why might we be seeing harmonics even in the wired setup ? Furthermore, is there anyway to get rid of the effect of fc ? Thanks in advance! Steve

The top cap had a U made up of PVC L's and was removable. Initial tests where without any filling. Once convinced it worked I filled the pipe with coin bags my local banker got me. Very strong canvas. Filled with gravel and sand.and a numbered string attached. Used it from 74 till 93 when I sold the home.

MacBookPro and Air mobile charging
Fri, Dec 27, 2013 6:15 AM
As I recollect we have a hundred watt battery, which also has USB output ports as well as the magsafe connector--12 volt or 110 volt input to charge the battery and /or run the lap top. It will recharge an I phone 19 to 20 times--an I pad Air several times, and the MacBook Air several times. Bob Austin

Here is a website that has a lot of technical stuff to back up what I am trying to say: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/ethylene-glycol-d_146.html A Google search for "antifreeze heat transfer properties" will yield lots of other information.

Re: [time-nuts] Zero dead time and average frequency estimation

Snyder, "An Ultra-High Resolution Frequency Meter", FCS #35, is very useful: http://www.ieee-uffc.org/main/publications/fcs/proceed/1981/s8110464.pdf It describes an hardware implementation of a zero dead-time counter (crude!) implementing the algorithm. It performs the averaging in the way I described earlier.
