FLOORING FOR A TRAWLER
Wed, Feb 15, 2006 3:13 PM
It has advantages- easy replacement of sections if worn or stained, easy to put sound insulation underneath, no expansion/contraction issues except with the sub flooring which being hidden is easier to deal with, no cracks for all the dirt to fall into, warmer in colder weather and above all not slippery. I wouldn't recommend it in heads of galley.

These hulls have almost straight sides so its easy to simply extend the lines a bit to get another few feet added. It's also much easier to rearrange the interior spaces, especially engine rooms. Easy to change next year's model to "look different". Interior substance doesn't count. Its the supeficial appearance that catches the eye in mass marketing.

Re: [CT Birds] Redpoll event
Thu, Mar 7, 2013 12:25 AM
I have seen this bird attack 5 times now in the last 2 weeks, and all 5 have resulted in an easy capture. When the Redpolls are all feeding on feeder and below on ground, the hawks appearance makes them all take flight at the same time as a cloud of birds not a scattering. By doing this, the hawk passes through them with a capture every time.

TWL: Re: Window Leak Repair

I made the mistake of using 3M 5200 to bed the dinghy chocks to the aft cabin top. When I tried to remove the dinghy chocks to refinish them over the winter, part of the fiberglass on the aft cabin top came with them when I pulled them off. Then I had to repair the aft cabin top.

Been in those seas and know full well that the LAST thing you want to do is take down all sails. There is no way in those seas that anyone would keep the boat pointing in one direction unless it is under sail and under way. The waves and swells would have quickly over powered it. It is easy to speculate sitting at the computer watching a video.

RE: [time-nuts] Difference between HP 5370A and 5370B

You seem to be implying the B's have newer >>firmware than the A's, but then saying its not easy to tell if >>you have >>the new firmware, since the revision is the same. If the newer >>firmware >>was installed only in B's, then all you would need to do is >>look at the >>model number.

Hi It's pretty easy to get a common mode choke that will indeed break up 120 Hz ground loops. Often they are very low impedance. With most supplies the rectified line is what's coming through.
