Re: TWL: Banning copper bottom paints...

(I justified the top coat because of minimal time in the water) . Now other than the cost of over $20 a quart (u.s.) any comments? Lynn-Tampa BTW...this is a cracker style house that sits on the bay , so it does get the salt elements. "M.

We just blt. our home and used top notch insulation all around , widows etc. This only and I mean only lessens the amt of elec used to cool there is no getting away from it, period. REPLY If live-aboad boats were built to the same insulation standards as houses, it would use a lot less energy.

It is also easier to discern buoys or markers, because they end up right on top of the image on the chart. It's easy to identify traffic in the shipping lanes, ferry lanes and many other places where the chart provides corroborating information.

It is possible to flip sit-on-tops and inflatables. This is not a theoretical issue... George Rankin Silk Road No connection, just a long term happy customer.

Bilge cleaning recipe
Wed, Oct 27, 2010 1:29 AM
Is there any easy, or reasonable way to clean up this mess??? If there is something that I can add to the bilge water after launch that would be effective, and legal to pump overboard, I would be interested!

To use tar paper effectively, slather a layer of roofing tar on the worm shoe's faying surface, cover the tar with a layer of tar paper, slather on another layer of roofing tar on top of the paper, heave the whole lot into place and fasten on.

It's easy to extend this to a socket on the back panel. The unit requires 20 - 56V at about 25W, and runs fairly warm without ventilation assistance. And most important of all: NO, THERE ISN'T A GREAT HORDE OF THESE THINGS AVAILABLE! The few that have surfaced down here have been distributed locally.

As with most www experiences, sometimes what you find by accident is more interesting than what you wanted, but there is no guarantee that it will be easy, at all, to find what you really wanted. There has been an ad on US tv recently for a competing search engine.

Re: [time-nuts] Question about precise frequency / phase measurement
Thu, Apr 19, 2012 7:23 PM
I would prefer a cheap and easy solution. I also would like to have an update rate of more than 1 measurement per second, or even more. My first approach was to use a simple XOR phase comparator. I tried a 74HCT86 and a 74HCT4046. It works, but it's very noisy, so i don't get better than about 10 mHz frequency resolution.
