Replacement Refrig for Norcold
Thu, Sep 9, 2010 1:17 PM
As I wanted the door to swing open away from the galley, I changed the hinges and found that to be an easy job. There is approximately 2" of space in the enclosure on both sides, and on the top and bottom. At the rear, opposite the vent to the outside, there is a bit over 5" for air circulation.

[Ontbirds]Pelee Island highlights - April 24-26
Sun, Apr 27, 2008 8:54 PM
We found it on April 25 at about 6:50 pm, and by about 7:15 pm had all of the birders(~5) on the island with us viewing it! We first found it at a newly dug irrigation ditch 800m south of Scudder on Centre Dyke road, it was sitting on a snag overlooking the ditch, then flew about 20 feet to the bare field when we stopped the car.

Adding Ballast

The way I did this was: I welded up a box (no top, it was left open on top) of the shape and size of the largest block of lead that I needed, but a slight draft built in to allow for easy removal of the lead. This form was raised off the ground, a couple of propane burners placed underneath (a propane weed burner was also used), the lead added and melted.
