Re: [time-nuts] 5680A update (temperature stabilization)
Tue, Jan 17, 2012 9:53 PM
The heat sink inside is small so its easy to see why all sides of the case should be close in temperature. Like you in tinkering, I attached 4 reasonable size heat sinks with the case off and noticed I could drop the internal heat sink to 115 degrees. Granted everything cooks inside but it seems a bad way to run things.

TWL: re: Amenities/mattresses

A top quality 6" latex or foam mattress on top of the slats is superior to an innerspring IMHO. For ultimate luxury, add the Tempurpedic "mattress pad" to the top (it's a 2" thick mattress itself, yummy comfortable)" Several advantages here - first of all you can make your own slat bed at very little cost.

Re: [CT Birds] Difference between Audubon Connecticut and Connecticut Audubon Society?
Fri, Mar 31, 2017 1:38 AM
I thought I was being scammed for a minute until I found the latter’s website. So, there are two different groups that call themselves “Audubon”? I figured if anyone knew, it would be this group! Thanks all!

Tiff was in the top 9% of all female finishers, top 13% in her age group, and top 18% overall... Great run, Tiff! And Tiff is also planning to run the Philly Marathon in November. Steamtown Marathon (Scranton, PA): Heather Tracey had great success in completing her 2nd marathon.

All quiet on the western front...

Hi All, So much for Hurricane Earl then! If it's any consolation I was at Jamaica Bay (absolutely cracking day - great mix of shorebirds - but I digress) today and ran into a couple of NY birders who had been pretty much skunked as far as finding anything exciting on Long Island so it wasn't like they got our birds.
