This morning at 10:50 a.m., a pair of female/imm. type Harlequin Ducks were spotted flying south down the west side of the tip and then disappeared into the eastern basin of Lake Erie.

A northern flicker has been in the large poplar out back once in a while the last few days, but has not visited the feeders. 10+ white throated sparrows have over wintered here as well. Walsingham is 15 km north of Long Point. We are located at 905 6th Conc., just west of the Village of Walsingham. dianesalter@execulink.com

After about 10 minutes it was spotted by the resident Cooper's Hawks who did not appreciate the visit and made it known. Also saw a Northern Shrike in North Ajax and 5 Evening Grosbeaks north of Cty Rd 23 on Balsam Rd. (Durham Region) today. Geoff Carpentier Ajax, Ontario
