We have moved from a 42 Grand Banks to a 50' Fleming. Visibility from the
flybridge aft or to starboard when docking is limited. The First Mate and I need
a pair of headset-style radios. Any listee's have a good source and/or pro's
and con's relative to these devices? Thanks!

Scott,
WE use the " mouse ear" type from Toys R Us and they are great.
Only abt $20 for the pair.

Scott:

The official name of the ones Charles is talking about is "

Tech-Link Aviator 500" Walkie Talkies made by a company named DSI. If you
do a google search you will find lots of references. Most of us got ours at
Toys-R-Us. Don't let the low price scare you, these things work great!!

Charles is right, as usual.

You can find these from the ToysRUs/Amazon web site as low at $10, but you
will need two 9v batteries.  Look for the name "Aviator 1000."  Yes, they
are toys, but they work!  Full duplex and hands free.  Half the boats in my
yacht club now use them.  If you drop one in the drink, just get a new pair!

I second the motion.  They're perfect for the application.  Bruce and Joan
Kessler use them.
