There are also accounts in the Wilson Bulletin of large weather-related longspur die-offs in Nebraska on two dates in February 1922, although no numbers are give. Greg Hanisek

However, it qualifies as our weekend house and supplies all our vacations. Plus I enjoy doing all the work myself. If I paid to have the teak revarnished (for example), God only knows how much $ per month. When you die you can't take your money with you but maybe you can take your cruising memories so I say go for it.

It's a high-stakes game, and all too often the gamble doesn't pay off. There are more ways to die at sea than in a perfect storm.

Still, the engine will die if I throttle all the way down to 600 RPMs too quickly. I just called Caterpillar. The person I spoke to gave me a few more ideas on what to check. He also said that if I send the fuel injector pump assembly to them, it could run up to about $1,000.00 to fix!!... I hope it doesn't come to that...

I certainly agree with the "go now"--and go as cheaply as safe...but: Not all of the Caribbean is 3rd world in the sense that Central America or S. America and some parts of Mexico are. (Remember all of the tourists) I have drunk the water at Bequia and consider it safe.

Stem micro-leakage of air will soon collect until it makes its way to the injection pump, then it's surge and die. Apollo ball valves in 1/4" to 1/2" sizes are all $10.56 each.

Re: [time-nuts] No more 60Hz! TEC Elimination

The alternate (AC) path down through the middle of California is a apparently a bear to keep stable, and transients can take tens of hours to die out. After all, that transmission line is starting to be a significant fraction of a wavelength at 60 Hz. (lambda in free space is 5000km.. prop velocity on a power line is quite a bit slower)
