I think the best method of all for a transmission coupling is to duplicate the system that holds your prop on. A taper, keyway, thread and locknuts. I have heard of many standard couplings loosing their grip, and the shaft pulling out, but so far, have not heard of a prop coming off the shaft. Of course, I may not get around enough........ This is an exceptionally well built wooden yacht, double planked honduran mahogany on seasoned white oak frames, all bronze fastened. No caulking. Tight seamed. Bright mahogany transom. Teak decks, narrow vertical grain. Teak trim. Cabin tops, windshield and cabin trunk forward face are fiberglassed, or epoxy and glass and epoxy painted.

I've studied your website closely on this topic. I'm really in awe of the 860x models some of you have access to 8607, 8608 models some with options! I'd probably be considered a newer school timenut/voltnut but... I even collect Nixie tube frequency counters...

An Ideal vertical windlass makes handling all this very easy, and the extensive anchor inventory on board allows you to anchor in any bottom conditions. There are two banks of AGM batteries maintained by a new Newmar 3 stage "smart" charger. This setup is maintenance free and very reliable.
