We plan to visit cousins and friends in various ports. Friday night we will visit my cousin in Huntington Harbor and then Sat and Sun nights in Mattitick. After two weeks seeing the sights, dodging pedestrians and climbing in and out of subways, it will be good to get on the road again.

During a break in the downpours I also noted two SCARLET TANAGERS, two EASTERN PHOEBES, one eating mealworms on the patio, 10 AMERICAN ROBINS visiting pokeweed berries and all of the same birds posted yesterday are still evident.

Rusty Blackbirds
Wed, Dec 29, 2010 2:35 PM
Recently they started visiting again with a handful at first then up to 18 birds on the 27th and 9 this morning. Interesting how similar to last year, they sometimes visit with a few Grackles but the Grackles are always on the feeders while the Rusty Blackbirds are always on the ground and they never seem to get very close to each other.
