Re: [time-nuts] AUSTRON MODEL 2100F Conversion

USCG couldn't tell the politicians that "people will die" so it was a savings to be achieved. Given the shutdown costs it will take a few years to break even - so it's actually more expensive in the short run. I heard this weekend that they have already demo'd the Boise City tower because no other agency wanted it. On 10/4/2010 3:37 PM, J.

Mileages on the loop
Sat, Sep 29, 2007 8:51 AM
Iuka, MS to Mobile Bay 452 miles (Tenn-Tom Waterway) Mobile Bay to Bon Secour ~ 35 miles (Mobile Bay ship channel) You enter the ICW at BonSecour Bay which is the SE corner of Mobile Bay. If you have the range (fuel capacity) and the crew endurance for the trip, you may cross directly from Mobile to Ft. Myers.

Water Tanks
Tue, Sep 27, 2005 2:17 AM
In the boat we built all water tanks were fiberglass and epoxy coated. No problem. You have a choice to make plywood outsides or to lay the tank up against the hull. Any plywood you use would be best marine grade and saturated with epoxy.

All hands-- Some of you are reluctant to control your ability to quote at length automatically or to post unsolicited attachments, but your actions hurt us all when we drive away folks such as this subscriber who are cruising or living aboard.

Re: T&T: Windlass Question
Tue, Oct 2, 2012 6:37 PM
The chain locker is deep with more than foot, more like 2 feet clearance from top of the chain pile to the windlass. I check the gypsy and it is the correct one for 5/6” G4 chain. My question is what would cause the chain to “hop” in the gypsy when retrieving the rode. When the chain is straight up and down and no load or angle it works normally.
