When TWList loses we all lose

All hands--

Some of you are reluctant to control your ability to quote at length
automatically or to post unsolicited attachments, but your actions hurt
us all when we drive away folks such as this subscriber who are cruising
or living aboard.

Just wanted to let you know that the reason I have unsubscribed to the
trawler-world-list is that the attached files (173 k .jpg that wouldn't
even open and another last week) are difficult to deal with while traveling
and the quoted material is far too long.  I am sure the list offers a
wealth of knowledge, but when accessing through a cell phone or on a slower
connection -- that even happens at the dock if it rains, it is not worth
the air time.

I have never removed anyone from TWList for useless quotes or unsolicited
attachments, choosing instead to request co-operation via private email.
Perhaps I should show less patience, especially since two-thirds of the
excess appears to be generated by only two or three listees.

I just hate the idea of losing listees who are out there cruising simply
because a few folks at home continue to ignore TWList guidelines.
