[Ontbirds] Ottawa/ Gatineau: recent sightings to September 26, 2019
Thu, Sep 26, 2019 7:53 PM
Quebec Compiler: Gregory Zbitnew at sightings@ofnc.ca September 26, 2019 The highlight of the week was not rare but was a first for the year: up to 5 NELSON’S SPARROWS at the mouth of Constance Creek on the 25th. Warm weather early in the week was followed by a weather change and rain, but so far it has mostly resulted in a decline of migrants.

TWL: Securing TV's and VCR's
Sat, Feb 3, 2001 2:06 PM
Thanks to all who responded on the List and privately with suggestions on securing entertainment devices on board. Ideas ran the gamut from placing the units in cutouts in the bulkhead to screwing the TV and VCR to shelves. While all of the ideas have merit, none so far will solve my particular problem.

TWL: Night Vision Electronics
Tue, Aug 28, 2001 5:45 PM
Hi All, Any thoughts on Night Vision electronics? Any one own any brands that are specifically good or bad? Any one ever use them in a "do or die" situation or are then all bought as toys? Any advice for or against purchasing? I picked up a cheap Gen I unit from Harbor Freight - can't beat $89.00 to try out a fantasy.

Years of autopilot capers- one solution
Mon, Oct 4, 2010 10:56 PM
The problem comes afterwards; I find it difficult to fall back asleep with all the comments coming down from the pilot house. Fortunately, the comments eventually die out and I can get some sleep, at least for a couple more hours, then it all starts over again. Women!

Re: [time-nuts] GPSDO Comparison - Never Happened?
Sat, Sep 1, 2007 4:08 PM
Did I totally miss out, or did the idea just die? Quite a few people responded and have sent me GPSDO already. What I haven't done is finished testing all those that I planned and put the results into a summary web page.

Re: [CT Birds] another book CT birds 1877

It puzzles me that the author seems worried about the number of migrants that die each year striking lighthouses, yet he seems a bit thrilled having shot birds for specimens.  I know, shooting was fairly common pre 1900's.

Thank You All

My hat's off to them all! Perhaps some of you might find it possible to volunteer to lend a hand in some way.  Even when that is not possible, consider providing support simply by becoming (or remaining) a member. Thanks, and good birding! Roy HarveyCheshire, CT
