TWL: Recharging Laptop Computer
Mon, Sep 4, 2000 3:40 PM
The other reality of batteries is that they have a discrete number of charges in them before they die, and they are expensive to replace. So, run on AC when you can. Where's Joe Engel? Cheers, Garrett

New Type Of WiFi Service

FWIW, Wi-Max will likely die as a viable technology in the US before being fully deployed. Unfortunately for Sprint, this will be second failed attempt at being a market leader. For those of us that remeber Sprint Spectrum, it too died rather quickly. If I was making a choice today I'd pick EVDO Rev A and wait for LTE. Just my opinion, Gil

As a tangential topic, how would one put numbers on each face, i.e., turn this into a 20-sided die for Dungeons and Dragons? It doesn't sound easy.

Since the website says this was invented over a century ago and to my knowledge is not in widespread use, I'd be hesitant to believe the claims.

Cellular Service

So, I decided to switch to T-Mobile for $29.95 a month unlimited. It is perfect for me." We have T-Mobile in the PNW, Whidbey Island to be precise. Coverage here is spotty to good the closer you get to Seattle. T-Mobile was useless in BC and Alaska this summer. Beyond Nanaimo we had no roaming. In Southeast Alaska we had no service and no roaming.
