I modified one die set to fit 4/0 cable and used it several times. I've seen several similar 16 ton hydraulic crimpers on e-bay for $30 prehaps worth the risk/buy. I also used the smaller dies to swage wire rope and that ok as well.

When fitted properly, and they're very easily fitted, these shouldn't leak at all. If they have a downside it's that same thing that makes them work so well to start with, the ring bedding itself into the outer of the copper pipe, especially as there can be a tendency to overtighten despite warnings to the contrary.

It`s undeniable that the combined experience/knowledge of *all* list participants may benefit us. Topics such as electronics, diesels and refrigeration for example, are of immense interest to us all, regardless of where we live.
