The best time to see these guys has been before 8:30 am as they tend to roost on top of the flat-top buildings as the morning progresses, rendering them undetectable to those of us who must walk along at ground level. Who knows how long they'll be around, but they're a lovely group to see, none-the-less.

The reason for wanting AC is to avoid having to install a battery on the top deck or else using very heavy electrical cables to supply the 100 Amps or so of current required. If I use 120 V AC instead of 12 V DC, the current load will be only 10 Amps for which I could run moderate size cable from my main battery bank and avoid a battery on the top deck.
