>From EJ Raynor & Nick Bonomo: 10/14 - Stratford, "top soil" farm on Access Rd -- VESPER SPARROW, 7 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS (2 adult, 5 imm.) This is the place that used to be a small vegetable farm, located on Access Road between the "Access Rd pools" and Frash Pond. Now, the field is being used to harbor large mounds of top soil.

CACC bird ID correction

The coloration of the birds was a deeper darker grayish color on top with white on underbelly. Some were more muted color on top but with white belly.

Fifty Rd. ends at Ridge Rd. on the top of the escarpment where it turns into Eleventh Rd. The bird is located at this intersection. It likes to sit on any of the adjacent wires, the chimney of the red brick house on the south-east corner, his neighbors tv antenna, and sang from the top of the tall spruces on the north east side.

Both male and female were sitting on the top of the tower yesterday morning. For this year I first observed an Osprey at the tower last Thursday, April 7th.

There is a deck plate in the aft cockpit that accesses the top of the rudder post>> Patrick, One of the advantages of the old fashioned, expensive, obsolete, sailboat type pull-pull cable steering systems (ala Edson), is that near complete redundency is achieved by installing a linear/hydraulic autopilot system.
