Since I was under the >impression that a treaty was between countries, it sounds more like some >kind of mutual reciprocity agreement, like that between two states, like >Oregon and Washington. I believe that I have tracked this down at last.

By the way, I have one and love it. Some of the best money I have spend on boating accessories. -- > Is this really a free transmitter, or do they just give you one if you sign up for their service? > Sounds like "free phone, if you sign up for the plan" > > > I see the > $25 discount but can you point me to the free offer > Greg and Susan H

TWL: Re: Amenities (the other side of the coin)

For me personally, getting out of my "comfort zone" is important, otherwise I might as well sit in front of the TV with a beer. For others a trip to the dock is enough. After all as the water rat said in Wind in the Willows, "there is nothing better than messing about in boats".

Coastal Explorer
Thu, May 12, 2005 5:19 PM
I agree that Rosepoint Nav's Coastal Explorer is an excellent alternative to the more expensive traditional programs. I have been using it over a year and am extremely pleased with it. It will read almost any type chart that you show it. It's developer is a former Microsoft type and is a boater himself. Try the free demo, you will be impressed!

Re: Manatee vs KK42

Up untill hull 70 (I believe) the 42 had a glassed over wooden superstructure that required attention. Otherwise a small crack could turn into a big problem. Decks were built the same way except they put thosands og little holes in the glass (to install teak decks). Brightwork isn't a problem. Wife does that! ha ha....

"I saw an FTS 5030 Cesium Standard and thought it might be useful. But, before I sink major coin into this, I thought I would get the opinions of the group. Thanks, Dick, W1KSZ" There is currently an FTS 6006 controller on Ebay for the FTS 5030 modular Cs unit.
